Troubleshooting Life 185, July 3 - Make a positive impact on your birthday

Reader, by now I hope you are writing all the time.

Not just sad notes to yourself, but autodidactic notes where you write about what you read.

If you are like me, you overthink, a lot.

Especially on your birthday, which for me is today.

Sometimes, you talk too fast. Or not at all.

You might feel lonely. Or fat. Or lazy.

Or despair that you are not as successful as you hoped you would be at your current age.

You might envy those you see on social media.

Believe me Reader, I know all those feelings.

But these feelings, they are evidence you are

  • human

  • alive

  • healthy

So go walk around your neighborhood, or explore a new neighborhood.

Smoke less. Drink less. Eat less junk.

Imagine a future where you can grow, like a beautiful flower grows towards the sun.

Design your future the way Apple or Google designs the smartphone you love.

Fall in and out of love.

Do not fear romance.

Serve your clients. Do right by your clients.

In the end, your job is to help human beings.

Your ability to get distracted is not a curse, but your gift.

Troubleshooting Life is about realizing your curses are actually your gifts.

Your ability to think, and write, is a gift.

You speak multiple languages? Incredible!

You can travel and meet more people that way. People appreciate it when you can speak their language.

Live your life heroically.

You never know when it is going to end.

Love your family, and friends while you have them.

Remember that you and they are all mortal.

When you feel this moment is dragging on forever, remind yourself that no moment is guaranteed, or permanent.

Moments change like seconds on a clock.

ACTION POINT: Make a positive contribution to others on your birthday
