Wear a seatbelt when you drive a car.

I randomly remembered Governor Jon Corzine when he did the “I Should Be Dead” public service announcement in April 2007.

I must have been putting on a seatbelt when suddenly, I remembered his face and voice on TV.

It’s funny how memory works.

Children know they must wear seatbelts. Adults tell kids to do so.

And yet, the Governor of New Jersey forgot, almost died, and had to do this PSA on TV.

Also, he and Charles Kushner (Jared’s dad) fought to keep the Nets in New Jersey! They ultimately failed, but I respect the attempt. I miss the New Jersey Nets.

This is from the NYTimes the day after that happened:

“After delivering a speech to the New Jersey Conference of Mayors at the Trump Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City, Mr. Corzine was on his way to Drumthwacket, the governor’s mansion in Princeton, for a meeting between the Rutgers women’s basketball team and Don Imus, the talk-show host who was fired on Thursday for making a racist and sexist remark about the players.”

ACTION POINT: Wear a seatbelt when you drive a car.
