Become autodidactic.
“I don't know what they want from me / It's like the more money we come across / The more problems we see”
In this song “Mo Money Mo Problems, Biggie Smalls raps about how money doesn’t solve life’s problems.
My uncle, who I love, believes money solves 95 percent of life’s problems.
But as the song suggests, the more money you have, the more problems you have.
People in my life talk about money a lot. Even though I’m young, I find I do as well.
Earning money is necessary in a capitalist society. You cannot rebel against it.
But you can surprise people regarding what you do. Especially through Information Age tech, where you can be self-taught in a creative or technical discipline.
Autodidact is a big word that means “you didn’t take an academic course, but through the Internet, you taught yourself how to code or edit or screenwriting.”
You can become self-taught now faster than Da Vinci ever could. Digital payments enable you to charge for your services as well. You can create work for whoever your client is.
And then you satisfy your client with work you. Your team, if you somehow convinced people you are someone they are proud to work for, which leads to deep happiness for you.
I like what Tony Robbins says about happiness - that it represents progress towards your goals. If you feel like you are making progress, you will feel happy. Progress is a part of happiness.
ACTION POINT: Become autodidactic.
