Troubleshooting Life 9, January 9 - Channel magic through the tool.

On this day in 2007, Steve Jobs of Apple unveiled a phone, an iPod, and an internet communicator.

He called it… iPhone.

Reader, I truly love all my Apple devices.

Not only is the hardware beautiful, but iOS, macOS, watchOS, iCloud.

I love the entire electronic “ecosystem.”

I still play my old music from the 2000s and 2010s.

You know, the stuff you got from LimeWire, or a YouTube ripper.

I remember the jailbreak with blackra1n to get Cydia.

I remember the 30-pin charger, then the Lightning. The EU says Apple must be USB-C by autumn 2024.

The iTunes Store, which made it so we do not have to steal from artists we love.

Then came Spotify, founded as a way to monetize music without piracy.

Reminder: cinema itself is a technology.

Like Scorsese’s Hugo depicts, it was terrifying at first for people to see a movie of a train! Or even see a movie camera.

I am sure Martin Scorsese, or grandparents, are scared of Squarespace websites.

At least he has his daughter to help him on the Apple computer in the 2024 commercial.

So, Reader: what magic have you made with your iPhone since 2007?

Or your Windows PC. Linux. Avid. Adobe. RED, Squarespace. AWS.

Many “magic” tools out there.

Whatever the tool, channel magic through it.

ACTION POINT: Channel magic through the tool.
