  • Insurrection.

  • Heat wave.

  • Florida building collapse.

  • Trump organization versus Manhattan DA.

I took off work for the funeral today in 2021 for my aunt.

It still feels too soon. I am still mourning.

I turn 25 soon. My family and I are going to Atlantic City.

I celebrated many birthdays there. I am starting to feel the aging.

Siddhartha Gautama, on his journey to becoming The Buddha, learns old age, sickness and death are inevitable in life.

So is death. So is mourning.

These are assignments of life.

In today’s Daily Drucker, Peter F. Drucker with Joseph A. Maciariello talk about business theory.

They cite examples like The Medicis, the Bank of England, and IBM.

Each had a clear idea of their business.

The theory of business has three parts.

  1. Assumptions about the environment of an organization, like its societal structure, the market, the customer, available technology.

  2. Assumptions about the specific mission of an organization. What does an organization consider meaningful results? How does it envision itself making a difference?

  3. Assumptions about the core competencies needed to accomplish the mission. What areas must the organization succeed in to maintain or exceed its goals?

Reader, one day you could run a multinational octopus conglomerate in over 200 countries.

You must constantly study your empire to maintain this giant octopus.

After you do some studying, you can do some writing, and craft theories your team can act on.
