Reader, this day 14 years ago I saw George Lopez on Nick at Nite.
I know this because my bored, middle school self posted to Facebook about it, in my teenage attempt to elicit envy.
I recently saw George Lopez in Blue Beetle (2023).
Seeing his performance reminded me of 2009 Akash, a boy who worshipped 3 TV networks: Disney, Nick, Cartoon Network.
Networks that YouTubers likely worshipped or “envy” as well.
Remember this logo? Then a glut of user generated content, UGC?
Content creation? Easy.
A thing worth saying? Harder.
Working through your boredom and envy? Hardest of all.
“I’m Here, You Not,” so what? My work won’t finish itself.
